Rowan has worked as a curator in cultural institutions for twenty years, including at Canberra Museum & Gallery, the National Museum of Australia and the National Library of Australia. She has published on the history of Canberra as well as curatorial practice, and has curated exhibitions on diverse aspects of the history of Canberra and Australia.
